Update on Race For Home - Currently Available for Adoption

"After seeing your great photos, I had to write and give you an update on
Rose. She is doing very well and has a great glow of health this spring.
She saw a chiropractor last month and she seems to be much less stiff and
loves to run circles and circles and circles in the outdoor arena. I wish
I could capture her on video--it is something to see. Her attitude towards
people seems to be more of a "thumbs up" these days. We get her out to
graze and for her grain so the halter is a good thing. She even gave me a
welcoming nicker when I was out last Sunday. Today was pedicure day and we
got all four feel trimmed up nicely. I'll try to get some pictures soon--I
know, I keep promising but I don't snap pictures fast enough with her. Oh! and one more thing--we did a fecal check in May. It indicated that she
was a high shedder so two weeks after her worming with Ivermectin, we had
another fecal done. This one was worm negative--yeay. So as you can see
this is the thousand words and we do need to send some pictures so you can
see the Rosie makeover."

Two days

We are accepting donations towards renewal of our equine market license,
due on June 30.

This is several hundred dollars per year, and currently ASAP does not
budget for it.

Any donations are gladly accepted and eligible for a tax deduction!

Network For Good

Hey friends!

Got a notice from our friendly Department of Agriculture this month that
our equine market license renewal is due by June 30. GREAT.........there
goes several hundred dollars. It is interesting that we do not sell
horses, but rather charge a fee for our services (sometimes...) for horses
to find good homes. Why, then, should we be treated as horse traders or
jockeys? Just one question I have and it is meant to be a question and not
an argument. Add to that a standstill in our intakes at our farm with no
horses being accepted for placement, and we wonder why we might be
mandated to have this. Still, we want to respect the law, as always.

Please please keep your donations coming on Network for Good. In the past
month, ASAP has generated a few hundred dollars from donations made in our
name! This is the greatest fundraising tool we have found to date, and it
is helping the horses, thanks to you!

Pace Invader

Pace Invader is a STB gelding who is currently available for adoption.
He is in Wisconsin.
He was first adopted as a driving horse, then came back and was re-adopted for use as a mounted police horse.
Since that time he has been a pleasure riding horse.
He is a tall light bay with tons of personality!

Who says that facebook connections are bad things? While some may see it
as "dangerous" and inappropriate to get linked back up with old friends
and acquaintances, ASAP has the opposite story.

I was on facebook several months ago and several of my high school
classmates had friended me. I was looking at their list of friends, and
came upon a name I instantly recognized - Scott Serres!!! I wondered what
had happened to him after high school - knew he had kind of vanished. I
clicked on his profile and we "friended" and I came to find out that he
moved with his family to Las Vegas after he graduated, and his dad was in
the printing business. Scott joined him in this business, and has stayed
in Nevada (but misses Wisconsin occasionally - how could he???).

We want to publicly thank Scott for his support of ASAP's mission. He has
not only donated money to help support horses in care, but he printed out
several hundred glossy fliers, along with two huge boxes of envelopes with
our logo on it! We have been in need of envelopes for a very long time,
and the fliers will help us immensely in our fundraising and marketing
efforts, to make people more aware of what we do.

Thank you Scott - a thousand times, thank you! And thanks to facebook and
old friends!!!!!!!

Have had great reports that Sydney and Deon are two gentle,loving geldings
who are the first ones to greet you when you come outside. In your back
pocket and affectionate, loving, kind.

These horses would need some time under saddle (they haven't been ridden
in quite a little while).........but they would prove to make loyal pets
and great riding companions!!!
