The Easter weekend brought Jordin, Jessica, and Emma out to the ASAP farm. Jordin fell in love with Honey Fitz and the bond they have is strong. Jessica is getting ready for her first horse show, and we are working to see who will work better for her - Remmie or Chief. Emma got a good road ride on Remmie.
We also had quite a few spectators and volunteers, and people looking for that "right" horse. Thanks to Paige for spending time getting to know Little John and Fitz, and to Ron and his daughter and Heather and her kids for coming from Rochester MN. Heather is the adopter of Knoteworthy Dude, and is looking for another Standardbred for her family. I was busy until 9 pm Friday night, and almost missed Easter dinner with my husband and his family Saturday because it's so hard to get away from the farm at times. We waited until after 1 pm for people to come and pick out that special Easter bunny for their six year old daughter. In the end, everything worked out just fine. Thanks to my in-laws for being so patient and forgiving!
Thanks to Judy K. and her daugher Jessica for their donation towards Chief's spring shoes and Brandy's wedges and shoes. Thanks also to Judy for her donation of cat food and dog treats! Thanks to Robin P. and Jordin for the hard work they have put into creating a scrapbook for the horses and he Midwest Horse Fair- just wait til you see it! And thanks to Robin and Jordin for creating 400 (yes I said 400) cards using pictures of the horses from the ASAP farm to present for anyone who wants to make a donation. I cannot imagine the time and work that went into those beautiful cards. Thanks also to the Hermeier girls and Robin for collecting $100 in donations for ASAP - it all adds up to being able to finance care for the horses here.
We are busy here, and it is so great to see horses getting extra attention. Louie - you are so appreciated for traveling from over by the Madison area almost every single Saturday to walk and care for horses waiting for homes. Thanks for helping me carry square bales to the lower arena and giving that special TLC to Randy, my old 29 year young STB gelding. The horses recognize your kindness.
Coming up:
Tack Consignment Sale - Green Island Ice Arena - La Crosse - this Saturday. Thanks to Lynette L. for bringing over a 20 pound bag of horse treats and picking up the donated items that we will try to sell this weekend.
4-H Horse meeting - at ASAP farm - Sunday at 3:00 pm
Next Thursday - we are off to Midwest Horse Fair for three days - the kids can hardly wait and I can hardly wait too! It will be great to see all of you!!!
The puppies are growing, and the rain means staying indoors. The garage is - stinky - but keeps me on my toes. They are ready for new homes next week after their checkup and shots!!!
Take care!
Sue
