I really have the winter blues right now. Just like you, seems as though every day just brings work, then sleep, then work, then short sleep, then family obligations, then more work. I want so badly to find a way to stay home full time! I am working hard on that through several venues right now, but in the meantime I get great updates such as Ray and Alice's sleigh rides and rides with their fantastic Standardbreds. We are very happy to report that Pistol Pete N is one of the four horses currently selected to return to Midwest Horse Fair, although we love all of Ray and Alice's horses! We cannot say enough about the financial and moral support that Ray and Alice bring to ASAP.
You can see that they are able to enjoy their horses even on some of the coldest days of the year. Yes, I am green with envy! Randy continues to gain weight on his senior pelleted feed. Due to Timesareachanging's aggression we are unable to place Randy back in with his herd of 20 years, which is sad. We are trying to figure out where else we may put Times until we can get Randy back in and acclimated, but no matter where Times goes he seems to pick a fight with at least one gelding. So for the time being Randy remains in the barn area, with occasional jaunts with Brandy and the llama, Cyd. Arne has been losing weight at his pasture down in the valley about ten minutes from our house. Despite unlimited hay and regular feed, I feel the need to bring him home to personally monitor him and make sure he keeps his weight up. Still, with no adoptions taking place, there is no room to bring Arne back. I really hope that soon people will be looking for great horses to foster or adopt!
